Kasich Announces Appointment to Miami County Probate/Juvenile Court

Today Governor John R. Kasich announced the appointment of Scott R. Altenburger of Troy (Miami Co.) to serve as a judge on the Miami County Probate/Juvenile Court. Altenburger will assume office on November 26, 2018. He was elected in the November 6, 2018 election for the unexpired term ending February 8, 2021, and will run in the November 2020 election for the full term beginning February 9, 2021. Altenburger is replacing Judge W. McGregor Dixon, Jr., who retired.

Altenburger received his bachelor's and law degrees from the University of Toledo. He is currently the Chief Magistrate for the Miami County Court of Common Pleas, and was previously a training mediator for the Ohio Supreme Court. Altenburger is a member of the Ohio State Bar Association, Miami County Bar Association, and Ohio Association of Magistrates. In addition he is an instructor at Edison State Community College, teaching Family Law, and Legal Research and Writing.
